Tsi railway tunnels

There are two tunnels: the southern and the northern tunnels. It is possible to walk through starting at GR 143118 and finishing at GR 154149. The southern tunnel is 40 metres long and consist of two 8 straights with a bend about 2/3 of the distance from south to north.

There are two tunnels each approximately 500m long which means they should take between 5 to 10 mins each to negotiate.

The safety tunnel is made as per the International guidelines like UIC (International Union of Railways) and TSI/SRT(Safety in Railway Tunnels – European Railway Agency) for the safety of the passengers during the operational time. Bradfield also built additional tunnels that were planned to later link St James Station with a connection to the Eastern Suburbs.
